The University of Piraeus established the Department of Maritime Studies in 1989, with the aim of bridging the academic gap in the Greek maritime network. What constitutes the aim of implementing this strategic decision has always been to provide the highest quality academic services to the local, regional and global shipping community.
The Department of Industrial Management and Technologies aims to train, educate and promote executives in the field of Production Management, with emphasis on the applications of new technologies in production systems. The objective of the Department is to provide students with the knowledge of the scientific methodology required for the analysis, design, implementation, and organization of appropriate systems, in order to effectively address and tackle the complex problems that arise in the operation of production due to human interdependencies with raw materials or means of production and modern technology.
